Year end appeal for ISAAC: A message from Dr. Russell Moy

Please make a year-end gift!
December 24, 2009

Greetings friends!

My name is Russell Moy. I am a founding member and the current chair of ISAAC’s Board of Directors. All my life, I’ve served Asian American Christian communities as a missionary, pastor, and seminary professor. Like you, I am passionately committed to ISAAC’s mission to strengthen Asian American Christians and to enhance a better understanding of this diverse population.

ISAAC is now three years old! It has taken all this time to build a foundation for our work. We are now ready to create new resources for church leaders and to pioneer innovative research. Next year,

  • ISAAC will support Epic’s (Campus Crusade for Christ) Asian American staff development programs. We will also seek opportunities to help train staff of other organizations.

  • We will work with churches and seminaries to equip leaders and teachers. Our resources will build effective inter-generational leadership teams, create trust in cross-cultural and multi-cultural settings, enhance worship and Christian education in Asian American churches, cultivate congregational cultures that support the call to ministry, support theological curricula with Asian North American perspectives, and much more!

  • We will offer training sessions to help church leaders and college or seminary professors best utilize our “new-born baby” – the Asian American Christianity Reader, co-published with PAACCE [see www.aacreader.com]

  • We will continue to build on our successful partnerships with Logos Seminary, Fuller Seminary, and several congregations in Southern California by developing equipping and resource programs and a Los Angeles Chinese churches study.

  • We will begin conversations with local leaders in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle and Vancouver) to plan a new regional initiative.
  • We will encourage research through the Society of Asian North American Christian Studies (SANACS), lectureships, new publications, and local seminars.

I am eager to be part of an exciting future!

Like everyone else, ISAAC is stretched thin these days. I’ve seen the tireless effort that our staff and volunteers have given to the Institute’s work this past year. But their enthusiasm will not be enough for the future. Without your prayers and gifts, we cannot survive. Your participation is an investment in quality programs and resources!

So on behalf of ISAAC’s board, I invite you to consider making a year-end, tax-deductible gift. Just click the button below or visit the ISAAC website (www.isaacweb.org) to make an on-line credit card or PayPal donation. If you prefer, you may mail checks written out to “ISAAC” to Dr. Russell Yee, 4044 La Cresta Avenue, Oakland, CA 94602-1731.

Give a gift of $120/year and you will automatically be enrolled as a 2010 ISAAC AND SANACS member. Members receive complimentary issues of the SANACS journal and special discounts for ISAAC resources and events. Those who give $500 or more will receive complimentary copies of all publications and resources created in 2010.

ISAAC has much to celebrate! As Dr. Tim Tseng noted in the ISAAC Blog [CLICK HERE TO VIEW], we have accomplished quite a bit in 2009. We are counting on you to help us make 2010 an even greater year!
Russell Moy
Joy to the world and to you!Rev. Russell Moy, Ph.D.
